A bump post from the D&D project: what changed since August, and the first conversion number worth printing.
Loreweaver’s Cauldron keeps moving: browser D&D 5e, an AI Dungeon Master, real mechanics underneath. Since my last post the project stopped being a demo and became a product — with pricing, payments and actual players.
What shipped since August
- A price that stopped moving. 30 turns a day, free, no card required. A 10 € one-time unlock opens everything else permanently — all model engines, images, voice. No subscription, no drip. Three revisions and a lot of player feedback got us there.
- One message, one turn. Predictable accounting instead of per-call math; no meter anxiety mid-scene.
- Chat-first combat, server-authoritative enemy rolls. Every attack, parry and morale check is rolled by the server before the DM narrates it. The AI can’t fudge — for you or against you.
- Six campaign languages: Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian. Character sheets and narration follow the choice.
- Voice and pictures. The DM can read your campaign out loud in all six languages (voice input is English for now), and portraits or campaign scenes are one request away. All of it behind the same unlock.
- Bring your own narrator. Point the game at a local Ollama on your own hardware and it runs the DM there, free, 0 turns per message.
The number
173 accounts exist. 140 of them have started at least one campaign — 378 campaigns in total. Three of those players paid.
That is 2.14% conversion on the only denominator that matters: not visitors, not signups — players who actually played the game. Above 2%, and I’m counting it on purpose.
In absolute terms: 253 kronor, three payments — a tier, a patron pass and a donation. I state the sum precisely because the ratio above is the point, not the total. The money is proof that a finished, tested, self-owned product can earn from people who owed me nothing — the same proof this consulting work runs on, just smaller and with more dice.
